Getting started
From installation to your first cited answer in a few minutes. Everything after the first model download works offline.
Install
On a Mac, open the downloaded file and drag Vult to Applications. On Windows, run the installer. The beta is not signed yet; the Download page explains the one-time prompt your system may show.
Download the AI models (once)
On the first start a blue banner offers "Download now" (about 9 GB). Keep the app open until it says the models are ready. They are checked after the download and stay on your computer.
Start the trial
Open the Licence tab, enter your e-mail address and press "Start 15-day trial", or paste a licence key if you have bought one.
Create a matter and add documents
Create a matter in the bar at the top, open Documents and drop PDFs, Word files, scans, e-mails (.eml, .msg) or audio. Everything is read and indexed on your computer; a queue shows progress and the time left.
Ask questions
In Ask, type a question in French, German, Dutch or English. Each answer cites the passage and page; click a citation to see the quote. If the file does not contain the answer, it says so. Always check the cited page.
Build the records sheet and the chronology
In Records and Chronology, build the table of documents and the dated chronology, then export them to Word or Excel.
Redact with review
In Redact, review every detected name, address, e-mail, phone number, IBAN or date, accept or reject each one, then burn the redaction into a new PDF. The text is re-read to confirm it is gone.
Compute a deadline
In Deadlines, choose the country and procedure, enter the trigger date, read the steps (skipped weekends and holidays are listed), confirm the date, and export it to your calendar. Verify every date.
Dictate or transcribe
In Recordings, press Record (up to 20 minutes) or choose an audio file. You get a transcript, and optionally a summary with actions.
Search statutes
In Statutes, install a pack from "Available statute packs", then search by article number (for example art. 6:162 BW) or by meaning. Each result has its official citation and "as of" date.
Save results as Word
Use "Save as Word" on tool results and cited answers to open them in Word and edit them.
If something does not work
A banner says the models are missing
Press "Download now". If the download stops, press it again: files are checked and resumed. The only network traffic is the request for the files.
"The computer clock is earlier than the last time Vult ran"
Correct the date and time, or connect to the internet so the licence can be renewed. This protects the trial and licences from clock changes.
The app is read-only
The trial or the licence has ended. You can still open, export and delete your matters. Buy a licence in the Licence tab.
Scans are slow
Without a graphics chip a scanned page takes about 18 seconds. Phone photos need a graphics chip.
A Mac blocks the first start
Right-click the app and choose Open, or open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway. This only applies to the unsigned beta.
Contact support
Write to the support address with the version number (Settings > About) and what you were doing. Never attach client documents.
